Its finally over! I am nothing if not persistent.

I leave you with a little classic Florence and the promise that I am working on the blog, I am just getting sidetracked by other things (such as my new bnd [squeeee!] and pub crawling with Aimee.)

I’m skipping day 28 because songs don’t make me feel guilty. So onwards to the penultimate post in this challenge.

Of the first: my daddy would strum this on his guitar in his room while I belted out the chorus (the only part I really knew) while musing, at the age of 6, who the heck Sally was.

Of the second: Embarassingly, this was my favourite CD around the same time as the Oasis songs. Why? Because it had song lyrics printed on the inside cover that I could easily sing along to. Besides, the song was clearly about me. In all my childhood wisdom.

My actual post is halfway done. I am hoping to have it up tomorrow and I am also hoping that I haven’t bigged it up so much that everyone is in for a bitter disappointment. I am still the same average writer :) Plus I am so close to finishing this challenge I can almost taste it.

Why even explain? Its ukelele, its Britney, its straight up amazeballs. Enjoy.

I have a real post coming. Its a good idea and all but I am lacking the motivation to actually write it. A few days, my pets, I promise.

I can play a lot of things. On a variety of instruments. Piano is my pet, guitar my baby, ukelele my best friend. This is one of the firs things I learnt to play on guitar back in the day. I recently started playing it again and Aimee loves a good serenade of it. And for the record, I don’t find Leanord Cohen depressing. Its the delivery people – the man is a genius.

The end of this challenge is so close, I can almost taste it.

Rather than get into it, I think a much better solution is to bombard you with hilarity.

1. I have to put it in. I am from Limerick. Plus, we once got an African cab driver to sing along with us. Epic.

2. I find this a lot funnier than I think I should. But the D are awesome either way.

3. Flight of the Conchords – Hiphopopotomous Vs Rhymenocerous

4. Flight of the Conchords – Albi the Racist Dragon

5. Flight of the Conchords – Jenny

I’m really into Flight of the Conchords. You should be too.

I’m ashamed to say that there was a (rather long) time in my life where I gave this issue a lot of thought. Not just the song, but the clothes I would wear, who I would leave my few possessions to, whether I wanted to buried or cremated. It was not a happy time for me, and I’ve returned to that place since then but I am glad to say that I can approach this right now with the hope that I will have graduation songs, wedding songs, kids songs and a whole host of other songs before this one plays. So I will share two: my original funeral song that I wanted in that dark time and a song I wouldn’t mind too much now. (Although it should be said that my aunt Valerie does it the best with the demand that on the day of her funeral we mnust dance after the coffin to Amy Winehouse’s version of Valerie :D )

This is what I want as my first song if I ever get married. It is simply lovely.

This is quite a poignant song. And a choir favourite. The version we perform of this Billy Joel was originally by the King’s Singers, but thanks to one of the lads I have a real-life County Limerick Youth Choir recording. (I’m not actually in this because  it was recorded in Nice. Where was I, you ask? Pesky little thing called college.)

This challenge is getting done, dammit. I don’t even like it anymore but I have to finish what I start.

What a combination of two of my favourite things: choral music and the Beatles. Even though this is such a famous song, I only heard it for the first time last year, when my friend performed it for his music practical. I adored it and immediately set to work learning it on guitar. Its… acceptable. But Andrew always did a much better job ha.

This 30 Day Challenge has now made its way to facebook. And I’m sick of it because it has been going on forever. But I am determined to finish.

Song when I’m angry? What’s better than a bit of Slipknot. Courtesy of my teenage angst phase :)
